short doc: azul marino
Brief:
Create a 3–5 minute documentary covering a story of interest and include an interview with someone with expertise on the topic.
Project:
This short documentary spotlights the sea turtle rescue and conservation efforts led by Fundación Azul Marino in Valencia, Spain. Blending original footage with archival material provided by the foundation, the film follows two active turtle rescue projects that aim to protect marine life and raise awareness about ocean conservation.
I conducted an in-depth interview with Pablo Garcia, the foundation’s project director, who shares insights into the threats facing sea turtles in the Mediterranean and the work being done to rehabilitate and release them. The project challenged me to combine journalistic research, field production, and storytelling, resulting in a compact but powerful look at grassroots conservation in action.
